Following the success of this magical retreat I am delighted to be returning in 2027! If you are interested book quick as several of my guests rebooked before we’d even left the venue.
Nestled in a lush green valley, it’s a place where waterfalls tumble in the distance and the cabins blend beautifully into nature. You can hike or kayak if you fancy exploring, but mostly this retreat is about slowing down and letting the stillness of the valley work its quiet magic.
After gorgeous mornings of yoga and meditation we enjoy a long breakfast. Afternoons are for sinking into the spa’s hot tub, steam and sauna with sweeping mountain views from an exquisite rest area - the perfect way to enjoy a restful day. For those wanting to explore there are guided hikes and kayaking and local walks from your treehouses.
Meals are a highlight of this retreat. Served in the cosy converted barn, dinners are created by the hotel’s talented chef using outstanding Norwegian ingredients and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Expect hearty, beautifully prepared dishes that celebrate the season and the produce of the region.
The kitchen places great emphasis on local sourcing, working with nearby farms, fishermen and producers wherever possible. Menus may feature organic farm products, fresh fish and ingredients foraged or grown locally, bringing a genuine sense of place to each meal. Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.
I cannot wait to enjoy the warm glow of the farmhouse dining room again and this exquisite place.
